NASSAU, The Bahamas – RF Bank & Trust has strengthened its support for women’s empowerment and wellbeing with a generous holiday donation to the Zonta Club of New Providence. Coming off the heels of RF’s highly successful ‘Beauty at Work’ event—an expert-led financial empowerment and networking session with notable Bahamian beauty professionals held this October in celebration of World Investor Month—this donation marks the latest philanthropic push by the regional investment bank in support of gender parity.

The contribution, made as part of RF’s yearlong community impact campaign, will advance Zonta’s key causes, which include gender equality and the elimination of gender-based violence, as well as women’s health, education, and financial wellbeing. The gift serves as complement to the Club’s broader fundraising efforts, including their 16th Annual Wine Dinner—a refined, multi-course meal featuring live entertainment, to be held on 6 December 2025 at the Margaritaville Beach Resort.

In tandem with proceeds from the Wine Dinner, RF’s donation will directly support a scholarship endowment at the University of The Bahamas for mature women pursuing higher education.

Janet McKenzie, President of the Zonta Club of New Providence, expressed gratitude for RF Bank & Trust’s partnership, noting:

“We extend our heartfelt thanks to RF Bank & Trust for their generous donation in support of the Zonta Club of New Providence’s major fundraiser. The contribution will advance our scholarship and empowerment initiatives, helping underprivileged students access higher education. With partners like RF Bank & Trust, we are able to continue making a meaningful difference in the lives of those who need it most.”

In backing the scholarship fund, RF joins the Zonta Club in lending a hand to women who may have faced barriers to education earlier in life. Unburdened by the financial demands of tertiary education, recipients are better equipped to uplift themselves and their communities, creating a ripple effect of improved community outcomes. This holistic approach underscores RF’s belief that empowering women through education is a powerful pathway to healthier communities.

“Health is a key pillar of RF Bank & Trust’s community impact campaign,” said Regional Communications Supervisor Ethan Knowles. “Through this donation, we hope to drive positive health outcomes for women facing wellbeing barriers of all kinds. By expanding access to higher learning, we are supporting women on the road to enhanced career opportunities, healthier lifestyles, and greater happiness.”

Christina Sands, RF Regional Manager of Group Pensions and Donations Committee representative, underscored the two-pronged impact of the gift.

“RF Bank & Trust is proud to stand beside Zonta in advancing opportunities for women,” Sands said. “We view education as a cornerstone of health and empowerment, and we are honoured to contribute to a cause that strengthens both.”
