(NASSAU, THE BAHAMAS) RF Bank & Trust (RF) in partnership with the Bahamas International Securities Exchange (BISX) recently hosted a ‘Brunch and Learn’ in honor of World Investor Week. The session was led by Holland Grant, Chief Operating Officer at BISX and Dominic Stubbs, RF Securities Advisor.

Eight young Bahamian entrepreneurs were invited to attend the inaugural event which focused on identifying and investing towards financial goals. Several key messages were shared that align with the global campaign led by the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) including the importance of diversification, the impacts of inflation and understanding risk in relation to investments.

“Trust starts with understanding. Once the public understands how investments work, they will be able to make informed decisions on creating and managing wealth and trust the financial products and services available to them,” commented Rachael Allahar, RF Group Head of Marketing. “For that reason, we’re proud to be partnering with BISX for the second year to provide financial literacy resources and forums for candid discussions surrounding the local investment market. “

The brunch is one event in a week full of scheduled educational activities all hosted on the RF and BISX social media pages and campaign website, www.rfgroup.com/investorweek. Persons are encouraged to visit the various platforms and take advantage of the free resources. The events will conclude with a live Q&A session at 4pm on Friday, October 14th via Facebook and Youtube with experts from RF and BISX.

“As the Bahamian securities regulator, investor education and protection are of the upmost importance to us,” stated Holland Grant, BISX COO. “Our goal in partnering with RF on this campaign is to continue to shed light on the legitimate opportunities to create wealth by investing amongst Bahamians. It requires a change in mindset from spending and borrowing today, at the expense of your future financial wellbeing.”

The 2022 campaign theme, “You’re An Investor Too”, is aimed at challenging the misconception that only the wealthy can afford to invest and only international citizens are allowed to invest.
