NASSAU, The Bahamas – In a noble bid to bring more Bahamian dreams to life, RF Bank & Trust has partnered with the Ministry of Education & Technical & Vocational Training (MOETVT) to launch Past Forward, a philanthropic art exhibition which pays homage to Bahamian history, celebrates contemporary life, and envisions a future where culture and creativity continue to flourish.

This special showcase, co-curated by Jason Taylor and Kishan Munroe, brings together a talented group of Bahamian artists, diverse in background, discipline, and creative scope, to reflect on our shared cultural legacy and national aspirations.

Past Forward organiser, curator, and participating artist, Jason Taylor, shared the purpose of this singular, civic-minded exhibition.

“We’re giving budding Bahamian artists a leg up,” Taylor said.

The Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) alumnus and practising graphic artist emphasised the importance of empowering the next generation of Bahamian talent:

“At the start of my career, I didn’t have connections with veteran artists or the awareness of scholarship opportunities that I have now. Through this art show, we aim to equip a rising generation of Bahamian artists with the knowledge and networks they need to lead flourishing creative lives.”

Proceeds from the month-long exhibition—a key initiative in RF’s annual community impact campaign—will directly support a scholarship fund for Bahamians pursuing studies in fine arts. In unlocking more opportunities for emerging creatives, RF Bank & Trust hopes to drive the sustainable development of a thriving orange economy in-country.

The Ministry of Education & Technical & Vocational Training welcomed the initiative, which aims to advance youth empowerment and educational achievement.

“MOETVT is proud to partner with RF Bank & Trust for its upcoming art show, an inspiring initiative aimed at raising funds to support Bahamian university students,” said MOETVT Deputy Permanent Secretary Chilean Burrows.

“This partnership underscores our shared commitment to fostering academic excellence and supporting the creative aspirations of Bahamian youth. By investing in students who demonstrate both talent and dedication, we help to shape a future in which the arts continue to play a vital role in national development. We thank the management and staff of RF and look forward to future collaborations to empower Bahamians.”

Co-curator Kishan Munroe, Chair of the School of Communication & Creative Arts at the University of The Bahamas and another celebrated alumnus of the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), highlighted the positive impacts of RF’s upcoming art show.

“RF Bank & Trust has taken a monumental and unprecedented step in championing the arts within The Bahamas,” said Munroe. “This initiative is a visionary investment in the nation’s cultural and creative future that has set a new standard for art, art appreciation, and the role of corporate investment in national development. RF’s commitment reflects a deep understanding that the arts are not only vital to our identity and heritage but also a driving force for innovation, education, and community growth. Through this investment, RF has demonstrated true leadership in fostering a vibrant, sustainable future for Bahamian art and culture.”

Munroe will be exhibiting alongside other locally and internationally revered names such as: Anina Major, Dormann Stubbs, Jace McKinney, Jason Taylor, Kenford Stubbs, Kevin Cooper, Lamaro Smith, Leanne Russell, Omar Richardson, and Theo McClain.

“We’re honoured to be working with MOETVT and an outstanding group of Bahamian artists to bring more Bahamian dreams to life,” said Rachael Allahar, RF AVP & Head of Marketing. “Investing is our imperative at RF, and that’s not limited to stock listings. We’re also supporting what matters most: our future, which is built by the aspirations of young people.”

Past Forward opens to the public at 7pm on Friday 14 November 2025, at One Marina, Paradise Island. There is a minimum recommended donation of $10 for admission. Kindly note that this is a cashless event. Refreshments will be provided, and all are welcome to attend.
