NASSAU, The Bahamas – With the 2026 Atlantic hurricane season officially underway, a leading regional investment bank and wealth management firm has stepped up, partnering with the agency responsible for the country’s disaster management and risk mitigation efforts, the Disaster Risk Management (DRM) Authority, to ensure climate-vulnerable communities across The Bahamas are equipped to weather any storm that comes their way.

RF Bank & Trust (Bahamas) Limited (RF), as part of its annual community impact campaign, has announced a generous donation of 1,650 hurricane hygiene kits to the DRM Authority. The kits include essential toiletries and other personal care items to support sanitation and recovery efforts for Bahamians who need to seek shelter.

The presentation ceremony was held last Friday at the DRM Authority Operations Centre on Gladstone Road. RF AVP of Business Development, Tiffany Gibson, spoke to the significance of the gift:

“It’s an investment in the comfort and dignity of Bahamians. We are a low-lying island nation; we don’t know when the next storm will come, but we can step up to support our own. RF is committed to investing in the communities it serves, and this gesture demonstrates just how seriously we pursue that remit.”

DRM Authority Executive Chairman H. Alex Storr, who was on hand for the donation, was appreciative of RF’s proactive support, saying, “We are thankful to RF for the donation. Hygiene kits are often overlooked in times of disaster. But they are essential to create a sense of regularity and dignity for the people impacted by an emergency.”

As one of its core philanthropic pillars, health is a continued focus for RF. Other recent health-related donations include significant contributions to The Bahamas Kidney Centre, the Sandilands Rehabilitation Centre, and The Bahamas Red Cross Society.
